Independent University, Bangladesh's (IUB) School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (SLASS), in collaboration with the Department of Global Studies & Governance (GSG), hosted a grandiloquent book-launching session today (June 9, 2022) from 4 pm at the Multi-purpose Hall, IUB. The book, "Global-Local Tradeoffs, Order-Disorder Consequences: 'State' No More An Island?" is the third internationally published volume in the 5-year GSG history. The book was edited by  Professor Dr. Imtiaz A Hussain, founder of the department of the Global Studies & Governance (GSG), IUB and published by the prestigious international publishing house, Palgrave Macmillan.

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Md. Shahriar Alam, MP, joined the event as a chief guest and gave his noteworthy remarks. Eminent Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed from the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka and Mr. Abul Hasan Chowdhury, the former State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, enlightened the event as special guests. The book synopsis was presented by the book's editor, Professor Dr. Imtiaz A Hussain. Professor Dr. Amena Mohsin from the Department of International Relations, Dhaka University and Professor Dr. Shahab Enam Khan from the Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University gave their appraisals from the scholar's point of view. Ms. Subaita Fairooz, a Graduate Student from the Department of Global Studies & Governance (GSG), IUB, also gave her appraisals from the graduate students' viewpoint.
