Independent University, Bangladesh's (IUB) Department of Global Studies & Governance (GSG) hosted an engaging book-launching session today (July 28, 2022) from 11 am at the Multi-purpose Hall, IUB. The book Rohingya Camp Narratives: Tales From the ‘Lesser Roads’ Traveled is the fourth internationally published volume in the 5-year GSG history. Edited by Professor Dr Imtiaz A Hussain, founder of the department of the Global Studies & Governance (GSG), IUB and published by the prestigious international publishing house Palgrave Macmillan, it contains 13 chapters.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Dr A. K. Abdul Momen, M.P., gave his noteworthy remarks as the chief guest. Ambassador Mr Shabbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Secretary (West), Ministry of Foreign Affairs,  Mr Johannes van der Klaauw, UNHCR's Representative in Bangladesh and Mr Abdusattor Esoev, Chief of Mission, IOM Bangladesh, enlightened the event as special guests. Professor Hussain gave a chapter-by-chapter overview ov the book, which was substantively reviewed by two specialists: Eminent Professor Dr Meghna Guhathakurta, Executive Director, Research Initiative Bangladesh (RIB), and Dr Tasneem Siddiqui, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Political Science, University of Dhaka & Founding Chair, RMMRU.
